Application Guidelines

__General__
- Portfolio and Sample links to your works must be accessible (Restriction of access will automatically result in disqualification.)
- Google Drive links are preferred, but you may put other platform links such as (but not limited to) Carrd, Instagram, Wix, Wordpress, or AO3 (for writers)!
- Please let us know, if linking a Tumblr/Twitter profile, which threads/tags to go through.
- Applicants must be 16+ at the time of application. Applications below 18 may donate their share back into the zine or to charity of choice.
- Avoid submitting NSFW samples
- If we find out anything within your application is traced, plagiarized, or stolen, your application will also automatically be disqualified.__Contributor Application Requirements__Page Artist
- Required to create either a single-page art piece, two-page spread, or comic for the zine. Please be reminded that a finished background is REQUIRED (but it doesn’t need to be very complex/detailed.)Application Requirements:
- A portfolio containing at least 3-5 samples of artwork
- At least 1 completed work (WIPs are also allowed)
- Any traditional artwork must be scanned in at least 300 dpi, png file format
- If using Google Drive (preferred by mods), make sure all works in the folder are viewable and accessible.
- Note: Samples do not have to have Honkai characters, but it is encouraged. No NSFW and the samples should reflect the art style the artist would use as a page artist.Merch Artist
Merch Artists are required to create 2 pieces of merch wherein they can either choose from a list of possible merch options or assigned to them by the mod team.Application Requirements:

- Portfolio containing 2-5 Samples, each sample completed within a 1.5k - 3k word range for prose or 150-350 word range for poetry
- Excerpts/WIPS are also allowed__Contributor Apps Criteria__How will artists be judged?
- Artworks may be either traditional (as long as it is clear) or digital!
- Page artists will be judged on their general composition, value, anatomy, and creativity.
- Comic artists will be judged on their ability to tell a cohesive story within limited space, general composition, creativity, backgrounds, and coloring of their works.
- Merch artists will be judged on the composition, value, and creativity of their works.How will writers be judged?
- Prose and poetry writers will be judged on their ability to tell a story within a word limit, proper grammar use, flow, syntax, characterization, and language.

What is this project about?
This is an upcoming SFW, for-profit, digital zine starring characters of Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail in an Idol AU!What is a zine?
A zine is an independently self-published booklet/magazine filled with fan-made artworks and/or writing around a certain theme for a specific fandom. It usually comes with physical and/or digital merchandise alongside the zine.Is this zine for-profit?
Yes. For-profit means that all profits earned from the zine's sales will be equally distributed between contributors and mods. The profit portions of minors (ages 17 and under) and contributors/mods who would like to decline their profits will either be added to the profit pool or donated to charity.How will the contributor compensation work?
All contributors will be given a free copy of the digital bundle. Afterwards, the profits will be divided equally between all contributors.__What kinds of pieces can artists make and how many can accepted artists make?__
They can make either: Illustrations (Single Page or Spread) or Comics. They may make 1-2 pieces.__What's the word count range for accepted writers?__
They will be creating pieces that are within 1,500 - 2,500 words.
__
If I get accepted, can I submit an old work as my zine piece?__
No, but you are allowed to use and finish old WIPs for the zine as long as you haven’t posted the WIP/s in public yet.
What content limits do you have?
- No ships/RPs
- No NSFW
- No content related to racism, transphobism, etc.__Are contributors allowed to publish/sell their work outside of the zine?__
All participants retain the rights to their works and are able to do with it as they please after the zine has been published and sold. We will give participants a notice when they are allowed to freely publish/sell their pieces as long as they don’t sell other contributors’ works.__Can I apply for multiple categories (artist, merch, writer)?__
You may. However, since we would like to give other aspiring contributors a chance to be featured on the zine and to lessen the stress for you, you will only be accepted in one (1) category.
